Het game tijdschrift Game Informer heeft een top 50 samengesteld met de beste games van 2011. Welke 50 games een positie in deze top hebben weten te bemachtigen kun je hieronder vinden. Opvallend is dat er maar weinig titels voor een Nintendo platform in de top 5o terug te vinden zijn. We zien Super Mario 3D Land wel in de top 50 maar zelfs deze game wist geen positie in de top 10 te behalen. Ook opvallend, Mario Kart 7 is niet in de lijst te vinden.
