De Wii staat niet bepaald bekend om het grote aantal volwassen games wat verkrijgbaar is voor de console. SEGA zorgde het afgelopen jaar echter wel voor een aantal leuke core games zoals MadWorld en The House of the Dead: Overkill. Hier lijkt het nu helaas bij te blijven. In een interview met podcast 4 Guys 1UP heeft SEGA’s Constantine Hantzopoulos laten weten dat SEGA waarschijnlijk niet meer met volwassen Wii-games komt. De tegenvallende verkopen van EA’s Wii game Dead Space Extraction zou hier een reden voor zijn. Erg jammer want de Wii kan dit soort games juist goed gebruiken!
But that begs the question, are we going to do more mature titles for the Wii? And it’s like, probably not. Look at Dead Space. We were stunned. That was my litmus test. Basically, it’s like, okay, you got EA, who can put all the marketing muscle behind this, an established franchise that scored quite well on 360 and PS3. They should be able to actually hit this out of the park, right? We get numbers, real numbers aside from NPD, and I’m like, ‘Woah.’”
